Hi, we have just bought a tanami 15 hybrid, 2019 and we have heard there was a problem with the original rim size of the tyres put on it and they had to be replaced. Does anyone know anything about this please ?

Hi Cooldog,
Not sure if you did, but if you search “Google” for issues with Tanami 15 hybrid, there are several links to various sites with reviews. When reading the reviews, nothing is mentioned regarding issues with wheels, but several other issues are mentioned. These issues would appear to be with fit and finish, showing not a lot of quality assurance is taken during the build. Also quite a few issues with customer aftersales service.
Macca.

Cooldog.
You are actually mentioning two items here. "15 wheel rims" and then asking "of the tyres put on it". Is the issue with the rims or the tyres? A tyre fits a rim size for size, width another concept too and load ability.
Regarding the rim size/tyre thing, any mismatch can only be because someone fitted Metric tyres to Imperial rims somehow. A 14" tyre won't fit on a 15 and a 16" tyre will not be successful on a 15" rim. Is there any more info you have "heard"? Where did you hear the info? It is good to be cautious though!

It could also be that the rim were not load rated for what they were expected to carry. Its all just speculation though.

I think you,ll find Hoyks is right. Some campers had under rated rims fitted and these were replaced by Austrack. I,d address any concerns directly to Austrack.
