Hi
I was wandering if anyone has used MAXTRAX INDEFLATE ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMMixOGG9VU ) and what do you think of it.
Drifta used to stock them but now have MORRFlate MULTI TIRE INFLATION DEFLATION KITS.
I wrote to drifta and asked why the don't stock Indeflate and his reply was that there was too many issues with indeflate and that Morrflate is just a better quality unit.

Yep, they are nice bit of bling..but really?
If you look at it logically..all you are saving is a couple of minutes on inflating and deflating..a couple of minutes for what..a couple of hundred bucks.
Why?
A bloke on a resent trip I went on had one..he saved 3 minutes compared to me deflating my vehicle and camper trailer tyres with a "pencil tyre pressure monitor"..costing me $15.00.
When it came to air up again..this bloke saved about 2 minutes..whilst I used my trusty compressor on all 6 tyres.
But..I saved on being frustrated unpacking and packing up those hoses..turning knobs and reading gauges..
If you have too..and you really really want one..
But for me personally...yeh..nah.

Peter, you said “ all you are saving is a couple of minutes on inflating and deflating..a couple of minutes ”

They look a joke, as according to the video, it took him 10 minutes to equalise tyre pressure to 20psi on both front tyres, one side flat and the other side 40psi.

I could pump to both tyres to 40psi in less than 10 minutes with my ARB under bonnet car compressor.

Peter, I am with you, especially if you want a different pressure in front, rear and camper tyres..............

Hi Guy's, IMO the best bit about them is you can have exactly equal pressure on both sides of the axle, not as easy to do as it sounds with a gauge one at a time when one side is sitting in direct sun. don't know how good the gauge is on the indeflate, I don't have one, very hard to find stock, then you have to find a home for it. Seems to me that bit is a solution looking for a problem! If you have done plenty of airing up & down & still want one then go for it, but if you are still to get some off road experience under your belt I'd suggest trying first with a decent compressor./ rapid deflator conventional set up. We tour full time, off roadas much as possible & airing up & down is an occasional chore which really isn't that big a deal. Still need to bend down to do each tyre regardless of what you use. I loked at the extra hoses & thought "keep it simple with a single hose. Less to unpack & pack away. My choice would be to spend the extra cost of the hoses etc on a better, faster compressor.

i love my indeflate. it doesn't take minutes to equalise each tyre. After getting to the desired pressure you leave it closed for 5-10 seconds and both tyres are equalised . Bend down once to connect and bend down once to disconnect .

I have had zero issues with my indefalte and Drifta of course are going to bag it out and say morrflate is better .

Typical drifta bagging other products , nothing new there

I'm also a big fan of the indeflate. I use it every time for deflation and getting back up to road pressures. Deflating is two at a time, lot of airflow, both tyres end up at exactly the same pressure. With a decent compressor it's way quicker to re-inflate and again, to exact same pressures. Also saves my knees big time.

Funny that Drifta would say that about something so simple and so well built...I wonder if it's more a problem between companies than products...

I bought the Indeflate just before our recent desert trip. I have done several major desert trips before and am a stickler for checking and adjusting tire pressures regularly to suit the conditions.
I recommend Indeflate as a great piece of kit especially if you are towing and have and have another axle (or two) to deal with. We just hooked up one axle at a time and it almost instantly (no idea why another poster said it takes more time) equalised the two tires. Deflating is a breeze, not only because of the equalizing of the two tires, but also the deflating device itself. We literally did two tires in the same time as we used to one tire.
I have different pressures in my front and rear tires on the car, and different again to my camper. This saved time and effort when deflating.
Similarly, when inflating, hook it up to an axle at a time and the compressor does two tires at the time, and you adjust once if you need to, at the end you know both tires have the exact same pressure.
Our fellow travelers were impressed enough to purchase the Indeflate after the trip.
I notice the negative comments are from those who appear not to have tried it for themselves.
Happy camper,

,
So now you only have a 1m hose. Oh, wait.... plus two 3 metre ones of course! And a gauge/valve thingy. lol

hi alan , seeing as you are having trouble responding to the right post let me respond to you here .

I cut the original hose that came with the compressor so that i reach all 4 tyres on the car and when the trailer is connected reach the trailer. The indeflate and it's 3m hoses fit in the same bag my compressor goes in so for all those saying about carrying extra hoses is incorrect .

the guage/valve thingy is on the indeflate so i'm not sure what you are getting at . is it boomer humour ?

Enlighten me.

Dusta, Enlighten you? I can't even get my own head around it. Yes, it was an attempt at some sort of humour. Maybe not "boomer", more likely Covid boredom. Sorry. Just ignore me.
Cheers

The worst part of the whole exercise for me is unrolling and rolling the hose. I haven't bought one because it seems to double the amount of hose therefore, irritating me further. Otherwise it seems like a good idea with some merit.

all i did was cut my original hose to about 1m length to sit between the compressor and indeflate .

Lachie, I think there is also another version of events re Drifta and Maxtrax and who ended up with the Indeflate products. Don't think there is any love lost between them.

Accurately saves time, not just mathematically.

4 x tyres tow rig, and 2 x tyres trailer.
Indeflate about 20 mins pending pressures inflating, pack away no different.
Deflating around 10 mins pack away 2mins. Longer than screw valve deflator.
But all above accurately balanced with working partner?
