G'Day All,
We spent a few days in
Normanton during our trip in FNQ & it gave us a chance to really explore this great town.
We look at the
Gulflander Train at the historic
Normanton Railway Station. We had travelled on it during a previous trip many years back in 2006.
Have a look at a Giant Crocodile & a Purple Pub.
We did a helicopter flight over the floodplains towards
Karumba, over the area where Burke & Wills turned back, a must do when in
Normanton. Amazing
views over the surrounding land.
A little out of town we visit Leichhardt Lagoon & Glenore Weir
Hope you enjoy
Paul & Michelle

PMK, when you did the Gulflander you could hardly miss the high-water-level flood markers just east of
Normanton. It is scary to think of that much water covering the area.

Yes. The amount of water during the wet would be amazing.
Most of the area you see from the chopper is covered in the wet
Not in this video but one coming up soon we cross the
Leichhardt River. The causeway must be over 500mtrs long
Just huge amounts of water must cross it
Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul and Michelle,
We are loving your videos.
I had never considered having a look at that part of Australia you are currently visiting but is now firmly on the must do bucket list.
My wife and I had a laugh at Michelle's reaction when you commented that maybe you should concentrate on the driving.
Looking forward to the next video.

Hi William,
Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoy our videos, it's nice to hear
feedback like that.
There's more videos from that region coming up too. We covered the
Savannah Way,
Cloncurry,
Mary Kathleen and
Burketown areas.
We usually look for the different things other than the main local tourist sites.... but we do cover these as
well.
I can't recall Michelle's comment, will have to go back & have a look at the video but She can come up with some funny stuff sometimes.
Glad you like them
Cheers
Paul & Michelle
