yes, good story. crocs are smart and will do a recon on you ! they can cross country quite a few Km rvr to rvr.. etc. what i dont like is the tourist boats in north having trained them to jump UP ( vert) out of water after dangled baits,... not a normal croc behavior ( they lunge horizontally, head raised. )
they are usually ambush hunters.
Good he bravely posted the story to give an example of how nature can catch us out .

Personally ive stood almost on top of a tiger snake whilst in bush, didnt even see him in the short grass beside water (classic). lucky it was early AM and he wasn't warmed up yet. felt touch on leg.
