Blog Review: Doctor Hicks Range - Great Victoria Desert June/July 2010

My Blog Rating: My Rating 5/5

Great report Duncan, we are looking at doing a similar trek this year. And we definitely want to find Blaze Point and the tree. Whilst maps are giving a rough area of Blaze Point, do you have an waypoint of the tree that you are willing to share with me? We'd love to find Chick Rockhole too whilst out in the area.
Thanks
MICHELLE.

gday duncan,

the indecipherable letters you found scrawled on rock by a waterhole on this trip, sound very similar in description to a reference made by the 1953 leichardt relic searchers. apparently talbot" scrawled",jesus saves ,on a red rock outcrop above a waterhole in 1903. frank hann also left initials nearby. your thoughts ???

cheers bernie

Hi Bernie my knowledge of the early explorers is very limited and the names of doggers even less. Ian Elliott didn't mention any other names other than Talbot's that I recall.
An awful lot of history through that area and a lot not properly documented.

Cheers

Dunc.
