It's a zoo out there.

I'm looking for a forward fold which comes in under 1.6T with fridge, 100L water, solar panel, food, etc. So around 1.2T tare would be comfortable. I realise I might have to look instead at soft floor.

I think I've found all ten genuine Australian manufactured (rather than assembled) brands, including all the guild listed ones.

Which are the best 'other' manufacturers, either because they've been active for the longest and had lots of design iteration cycles in Australian conditions, or they work with Australian designers/engineers (like Ezytrail), or just because they have an inherently better design and build quality than the rest of the non-Australian manufactured options? Which are the top non-Oz brands to look into?

Are there any particularly that use Australian 275gsm wax converters canvas?

Cheers,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

The two names that immediately come to mind are Cub and Kimberley. The Kimberley will most likely be heavier than your 1.2 T, more expensive than the Cub, but are built to last and take a great deal of punishment. I have had both, and the Kimberley was certainly a stronger camper.

He's asking about non-Oz makers.Kimberley is definitely Oz, made in Ballina.

Hi Briste, sorry you are correct, I misread the question. Yes both Cub & Kimberley are made in Australia.
