iPad without GPS

Just loaded Traveller onto my iPad and then realised it is non-cellular therefore no GPS. Is there a GPS unit I can get that will work with my iPad via Bluetooth and do I need an App to facilitate it?

Hi Chris

Can highly recommend the Bad Elf Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Extremely accurate, they are used in Avionics and the corresponding apps works well on Apple products.

I did a blog on how to set them up for Apple.

Thanks Stephen, I’ve followed your advice up with a mob in Victoria(Ozpilot) and investigating the options they have offered.

Just read the System Requirements for GPS on the Traveller webpage ...you'll see a list of recommended GPS receivers. All the info is there, very basic no need to overthink it.

GPS will still work if doesn't have a SIM, or is out of mobile range. Same with a mobile phone.
