Is it possible to hide the point to point display (dotted black line) when using
places or addresses to plan a trip?
If so is it possible for the distance to end point be calculated from the yellow line Traveller shows rather than the point to point distance?

Distance to end point is calculated from the yellow line (ie. calculated along the route line based on the selected mode). See User Manual page 19 - 21.
