Filtering out personal places on the map

I would like to filter out some of my personal places, not deleting them, keeping them, but not seeing them on the map all the time. How do I do this?

Create a folder for them , you can then choose to show or not

Thanks. I have some places in a folder but I can’t see an option To show or not show. Can you please advise how to choose to “not show”?

How does the filter in map layers work? Selecting a folder does not seem to filter it out so it does not show on the map?

Hi Pam

In the folder filter, if the folder is highlighted blue, it’s contents will show on the map. Open the folder filter tap it so it’s not blue, tap apply.

You need to ensure you have assigned Place Types to your Personal Places as the filters are by Type.

Thanks. What I had not realised is that I need to untick “All places” on the map layers and then highlight in the filter only the types of places I want to see. I sort of just discovered that by playing around. Is that process mentioned in the Manual? I might have missed it?

Doing it the way you have just described is fine but you will also be seeing ExplorOzplaces of the same filter type.

If you are looking to see personal places only , whack them in a folder, turn off places and turn on the folder. There are many options you could have with folders.
