I’d suggest you ring Tobermory & ask them how the road is up the border to Manners Creek. That would be the worst section.
From
Boulia to Tobermory is over 150kms of bitumen & about 80kms of gravel. This gravel was in excellent condition in June ‘21.
Manners rCreek to Urandangi might be a bit bulldusty in
places, though
Boulia Shire Council did sheet the worst bulldust sections with black soil, some years back. Any bulldust shouldn’t worry you as long as you have a suitable tow vehicle & are prepared to dodge around any bigger bulldust holes.

By late July 2021 roadworks were in progress to seal all the remaining gravel sections between
Boulia and the NT border.
