Is the Cobb Highway sealed all the way to
Wilcannia? We are travelling to
White Cliffs but wondered whether these two towns are worth spending a day or two in.

The Cobb Hwy is sealed all the way to Ivanhoe. There are a few short bits between Ivanhoe and the Barrier Hwy that are sealed. You may be able to find out how much is sealed by contacting the
Central Darling Shire Council or ring the Engineering Phone: 08 8083 8800.

I did the Ivanhoe to
Wilcannia section only a couple of weeks ago. It is mostly sealed. The remaining two or three unsealed segments are in the process of being sealed, based on the several detours I took due to roadworks. There's certainly a lot less unsealed now than
ExplorOz Traveller currently shows, it's only 20-30 mins of driving at slower speeds IIRC, although I didn't have a stop watch on it.
The unsealed bits including the detours were a bit average, but not difficult or dangerous, you just need to slow down a bit, and as the saying goes, drive to conditions. That was in the dry of course.
