External Water pump - Joocla V2 Hotap

Hi All,

We love this Joocla, having hot showers anywhere is fantastic. I've been using a Milwakuee Transfer pump to pump water from near by lakes/streams into a 100Litre tub I sit under my van and we draw from this into the Joocla but setting up the Joocla pump is a PITA

I want to mount an external water pump under the van, permanently wired into the van power with some external water fittings.

Can anyone recommend a good 12V water pump that can be fitted under the van (and get filthy!) without issue?

Most 12 volt water pumps have significant plastic components which would break when subjected to road debris under a vehicle. As a minimum I would install it inside a protective housing.
I use a Seaflo pump. It's inside the vehicle in a protective housing so that moving luggage doesn't damage it.

Thanks, ive ordered NorthStar 12V RV Fresh Water Pump 7.6 LPM , slightly above the LPM rate of the Joocla pump but within spec. Mine must be external, so I guess I can make a metal shroud to protect it from debris

If it's a diaphragm pump it may have a breather hole on the air side of the diaphragm that can get choked with dust. I had to put a piece of open cell foam as a filter over the breather hole on my small Jabsco external pump.
