Hello all I was just wondering about towing a caravan 3180 kg with a 100 series landcruiser across the
Pentecost River if it is better to be in low range
Thankyou

Hi Mark,, You shouldn't have any problems traveling across the
Pentecost river, we did it in a px mk2
ranger towing our van with no problems at all.
enjoy the country side its a beautiful part of the world. our caravan is a 23ft Atlantic with simplicity
suspension, and it did the
Gibb river road with ease.

I would -towing or not - always better to have the extra torque 'on hand' if ever needed.

Also you get better speed control and thus able to maintain slow, steady progress, especially on a rocky bottom. In rough going I often use low range not for traction but for speed control.

I've done it twice. Depending on the time of the season and rainfall it can vary. On both my tripsit was very shallow...not challenging.
We found the deepest crossing was e
entering El Questro, but don't worry it's a good bottom and Plenty of reaction.

My son coming across the Pentecost in his FJ40 in 1999.
