Looking for best bang for buck, so is it best to have annual subscription or life membership?
If life membership, is there any benefit when buying maps?
Whats the best package deal? If any ??
First joined in 2007/2008 i think but got tied up with work and business etc. and let membership slip a bit, feel its time to resurrect our adventuress side.
TIA
Cheers

If you're not planning on dying in the next 8 years Life Membership is cheaper in the long run

Thanks for your reply Peter, hopefully I’ve got a bit more than that in the tank ??.
What maps do you recommend & how do they compare to other products on the market?
Cheers

There are a few other threads on maps. I haven't looked at the options for a few years. The ExplorOz maps show lots of detail - in remote areas with lots of farm tracks that makes it hard to work out which ones you can drive on. It also has lots of great points of interest.
Hema and other maps tend to show less detail but what roads are there you can usually drive on.
It might depend where you are planning on travelling - take a look at the online version of ExplorOz to get an idea. You can also look at the Hema maps online. Look for "Boxhole Meteorite Impact Crater" on both (NE of Alice Springs) to see the difference in remote country.

I’ve been paying yearly for over 10-15 years now. If you buy maps it would be worth doing. Even if you don’t, still worth it

You are well on to paying your fees for your second life membership and you still are not a life member. Why not just lash out and become a life member?
