Hi all,
I am looking for some assistance in mounting my Ram Mount to the passenger
seat in my 2017 Colorado LTZ.
The arm is flexible but I’m looking for the best way to bolt it to the
seat.
I was looking to make a bracket to bolt to the front of the
seat or I drill and tap into the
seat rail.
Thanks for you advise in advance
Cheers
Frosty

Frosty : i would only use existing bolts holes &.make a mounting bracket that gets its closest to the gear box tunnel as possible. But more importantly i would have thought the top will need support???
You could probably do a search around GPS forums fb pages of photos of ways that others have gone about it ..
Good travels.

I have exactly the same amount. I used the bolt which is in the
seat rail. Yours is at an angle and I would make a right angle brackets for that. I found that due to the length of the flexible upright, my tablet wobbles too much.

Core, have seen these mounts with a secondary support from the dash just below the top mount to prevent the shimmy, can not remember what site I saw them on though, was a while ago. Maybe something to look at?

Yes, I fashioned a bracket halfway up the shaft that is attached to the centre console. It still wobbled too much.

I have the same bracket and used the front left
seat bolt beside the tunnel. Yes it wobbles a little bit but not excessive that you cannot read it whilst driving. Corrugations does make it wobble more like everything else. We have had ours in the ute for 11years now. It does restrict the missus leg room on her right leg, but she is quite used to it. Judy is a smallish size person, and that may make a difference to much bigger sized people.

Mate, I would undo the front
seat if access is needed and put a rivnut/ nutsert into the flat area of the rail bracket above the original fixing. Then mount the ram base on that using a short bolt. the comments about shaking are correct and i used another rivnut into the side of my centre consule to secure a clamp inorder to minimise any vibration. It worked for me.
