Overnight stops Great Northern Highway.

All on Wiki but:
Cue - Lake Nallan is quite good for an overnight stay. Turn off before the parking area and go around the east side of the lake to get away from the road.
Mt Robinson and Albert Tognolini 24hr stops are quite good but they are before Auski. Have you considered going up via Marble Bar? always a scenic drive and should be very pretty with all the rain they have had this year.

We camped at a good spot, as flagged on attached map. Between road and railway line.

The Great Northern Highway (95 North) is a busy stretch of narrow tar, I've just made the Newman to Dalwallinu run with an overnight stay at Lake Nallan, then after a top up of diesel in Mount Magnet ($ 2: 20 cpl) at the only service station in town.

We had a smooth run to Dalwallinu, had to pull over hard left several times for the heavy wide loads being hauled up into the Pilbara, most times you can fluke a reasonable place to get off the tar seal, but with heavy rain and narrow dirt roadside shoulders it can be 'iffy' at times.

The old highway (138) Newman to Marble Bar is mostly bitumen but heavy wide loads are fairly common to the Roy Hill mine.

Newman refuel get supplies then get out of town quick as you can !

Sandy creek 40 odd kms north along marble bar rd go over kalgan river crossing turn right follow your nose over mud pan towards tree line as name implies its sandy at creek and need to be 4wd capable incl van

Bilyn pool about 10 kms off highway along ashburton downs rd nice quiet spot. water levels could play a part though. (north of meeka)

closer to cue -better options for refuel than mt magnet

lake nallan as mentioned previously does get bit of road noise at night due to highway proximity

big bell 40 odd kms wets of cue up beringarra rd (think that name) go past turn off to Walga rock keep heading west

Always check local road conditions from the shire have a plan b if anything is closed maybe bit of rain over next few days in the area. (as of me typing 16/5)

Love that road! The scenery north of Nullagine looking east is fantastic. If you are running a bit late, I have camped at Mad Dog creek, just south of Nullagine. Just a bit of a track on the west side of the road at -21 56 22; 120 6 21. You drive into a cattle paddock (no gates) and follow the track to find a level spot.
Great for fossicking! Used to be an outcamp for cattle or sheep minders. You can find heaps of old cans, bottles etc if you look.
Watch out for the mad dogs though :)
