fuel lines exposed in wheel wells

Hi there!
I have LRA aux fuel tank installed in my prep to do crossing of simpson. I was surprised to see the filler pipe and some rubber fuel lines exposed in the wheel
well of the ute's tub. I was told that the install was done correctly and in accordance with LRA instructions, but I wonder if this is a problem as stones can damage these lines.
Can anyone comment?

Depends where they are situated with regards the tread, ie on my Prado the edge of the mud gaurds cops a beating from stones as does anything behind the wheel. Areas inner from the wheel and to the front seem to be spared which makes sense as most of the stones exit via the rear of the wheel.

If you're concerned you can protect them with pool noodles or corrugated split tubing.

It does sound like you may want to make up a metal guard as it will get peened by Stones if it is like you are suggesting exposed to the wheel but most utes have guards as standard depending on what sort of ute
well or tray body I guess ..
Maybe more info or photo . Both roads leading to The Simpsons ...

Thanks for the photo update I would definitely be trying to cover this as this is going to be very exposed definitely trouble in the making.. I would be looking at some of that hard black plastic sheeting apox 3/4 mm thick zipp tied on etc

Personnaly I would cover it protect it if sufficient room to allowfor mud build up on tires etc.
Practically I have an old KIA sportage which has steel fuel lines etc in a similar position, 25 years old and no damage to those lines.

To me, not acceptable, looks like raw exhaust tubing has been used as the filler tube. The whole tube, connectors etc should have been covered with some sort of protection. Good luck

Unprofessional.
Fuel lines should not be in a wheel arch.
Contact the installer and complain.
