I know this is a simple setting but I am still missing the point.

I am still having a problem getting my laptop to zero in on "My Position" on start up,
and not at "Alice Springs".

Thanks in advance.

In the User Manual page42
or
On the home screen in the Task Panel click on the looking glass and type "set default location".
Make sure Location Services is turned on then scroll down and set your default location on the map.

Are you using Windows 11? If so, go to "Settings" > "Privacy & security" > "Location." Make sure you have "Location services" switched on.

Below that there is a section "Let apps access your location." There is a list of apps/programmes that have the ability to access to your computers location. Make sure that the programmes you wish to use your location are switched on.

If you are using another operating system, there will be something similar to switch on your location. Your system will have your location on as the default when the system was installed. Make sure you or someone else has not switched that feature off.

Or you could just read the manual.
