Anyone got any ideas of how to get to
Birdsville for the bash, most roads are showing long term flooding and are closed.

Looks like all the roads are closed. I suggest you keep an eye on the
Qld live traffic site and hope the floods reside before the event. If you head for
Charleville or close by you can be ahead of most of the traffic when the roads open (even if you have to go via
Winton.)

Thanks . We are watching all the road information we can find. Our problem is we are coming from W.A. We can do all routes but it a long way if they cancel the bash. We did hope to slip up the
Birdsville track , but by the sounds of it within the smell of a beer from the
Birdsville pub the Diamantina says no go.

Birdsville Track is open from the south.

EDIT. Then again, the Diamantina is now up....

No it’s not Peter
They were talking on the radio today and
Birdsville is land locked, and no road trains that supply all the food and supplies from
Adelaide can not get through, as the causeway coming into
Birdsville is under water and the road is closed.

G’Day Rimfire & others
Can get into
Birdsville from
Bedourie. However ATM you still need to take the detour around
Lake Machattie as the road is closed at Cuttaburra crossing. Would be a long detour is coming up from the south.
The Diamantina is expected to rise a tad more yet.

Not sure about this year but in previous years, when there has been rain, the
Birdsville Track has only been opened the week before the BRB to protect the track
