Hi, recently in a trip to the
Pilbara, using ExplorOz on an iPhone 13, the app continued to revert to a straighline - wanting to fly in a straight line like a plane, when the app was used offline. I'm sure I'm missing something simple - I did search through the options but unable to find a solution. TIA

No, you're not doing anything wrong.
The routing engine that gives you a line following a road or track lives in the cloud and is not available when off line, so when off line Traveller defaults to straight line.
If you want a driveable route you must plan it when you are on line.
Cheers

Thanks Frank. I thought that may be the go - although I was getting frustrated as plans changed and routes changed due to extensive rains. And with no internet, unable to plan online

If you want to approximate a curvey route you can drop a series of pins and create a waypoint at each, then add them sequentially into a nav plan (Trek). The bendier the road the more pins you'll need to approximate the road. If you put all those temporary waypoints into a folder they'll be easier to find and delete later on when you no longer need them.
This is reasonably practical on outback roads which in general are fairly straight.
And PLEASE, if you do this DON'T save the waypoints as ExplorOz (public). Keep them private.
Cheers

Whilst the waypoints approach works its really clumsy.. I wish I could just tap a route out ..

It wants you to 'straighten up and fly right' ! (With thanks to Ray Charles).
