Just wanted to give a day 1 comparison on these 2 options.

In 2016 I bought an 07 Nissan Patrol (wagon) 3 litre CRD.

It came fitted with the Steinbauer chip (about $1500 to buy) already from the previous owner and I had always been happy with the vehicle power when *not* towing.

Towing our camper, boat or bikes was a different story, couldn't hold gears up hill, very under whelming performance.

I had it professionally re-mapped on a dyno yesterday for $1200.

Dyno runs were done with the Steinbauer in, and again after it was removed and the re-map done.

Now I know dyno's can be made to look how the tuner wants them to look to some degree, but the graphs at face value show a 17% increase in rear wheel KW (111 to 130 @ approx 3500 RPM) and 30% increase in rear wheel torque (297 to 386 @ approx 2500 RPM) over the Steinbauer.

Haven't towed anything yet, but seat of the pants, it seems to have a lot more mid-range grunt.
