I recently got this App because i wanted to track my trips when going on bush tracks. If you are not a member is this not possible.

Yes it is amazing how people on this forum expect people to be mind readers - my initial thought on App was the telstra app, optus app, google maps, tinder and on it goes - there must be a million apps out there.

Many people first discover this forum after buying our app and naturally believe everything on our site is about our products. I'm sure they are perplexed it would even be strange for you not to think the same. Our entire business and working day is spent supporting app queries. The volume is astounding and whilst we away our help desk auto responders suggests they ask in the forum

Could have been Tracker app, should not have to assume what is being discussed, just thought I'd ask to make it 100% clear. Wouldnt be the first time a question got answered wrong after guessing what the OP was actually talking about.

Yes true...could have been either Tracker or Traveller given he was asking about Membership requirements for tracking.

Some people simply refer to our products as "EXPLOROZ" and don't make any distinction between the app names, the map product name, or the website. I'm getting used to being a detective when people ask for help...there's rarely sufficient detail given.

Yes it's possible. The Traveller app tracks you without membership but you have to export the tracking data to draw the map of your trip (called a Track Log) so you do this after your journey. There is however a short bit of your tracking showing on the map as you go, called the Snail Trail but this auto trims from the start after 2000 positions - its useful for backtracking.

If you upgrade to a Member account, ALL your positions sync to a map on the server for you to view your entire trip as you go (there is an option in Traveller to view your server tracking map)...and let's you share with friends/family who might want to follow your trip progress.

Probably the best thing you can do to maximise convenience and useability of the whole system that is the back end to Traveller is to pay the $40 for the first year's membership and then the $25 annual renewal.

I found out there were a few trimmings in the forum that were handy to use by becoming a member. That's why I joined. When joining I also considered that I would live long enough to save money by becoming a life member.
