Hi All
I've gone and created the first problem that my car has EVER had (excluding 1 blown head light globe) in almost 18 years.
I had some of the AC ducting off on the passengers side looking at how to bring a cable through the firewall. Didn't disconnect any cables, however when I drove the car (with duct out) and turned corners I could here a clear clicking, on and off, each time the warning light would come on and off on the dash. My guess is it was detecting a pressure issue, AC continued and continues to work fine. Anyway, I drove around for a bit like this and the clicking stopped....., and the light is stuck on, seems a N/O contact has become a permanently closed one :-(
Any suggestions anyone?
Cheers
Lyndon

A BIGGGG sigh......................................., sorry for wasting your time. Life is a bit stressful ATM, I thought I'd checked the brake fluid..................., must have had my eyes shut.
It was down. Topped up, issue gone.
Handbrake has been making noises on and off since I installed those new dog bones. Figured they were not allowing drums to fully disengage. I changed the fluid last Christmas, so there must be a leak somewhere. Nothing obvious to be seen from below.
Kinda tired of pulling those drums off the rear!
Cheers

"Handbrake has been making noises on and off since I installed those new dog bones."
IIRC I read somewhere that the OEM dog bones had an issue and that after market ones were available to correct the problem.
Sorry, not a Toyota man now so no expert knowledge, but I wonder if the handbrake noises are related to the dog bone thing.
Sorry I can't be more specific but it might be worth investigation. I did find this as an afterthought, particularly the red text halfway down the page:
Dog bone link.

Lyndon,
If your brake fluid has dropped since Christmas, that’s over 8 months ago remember, your front brake pads may need checking? As they wear, the level in the master cylinder reservoir drops, as the piston in the callipers extends. Replacing is an easy task, if you haven’t done it before?
Check pad wear from behind the calliper, using a torch is best.

Hi Bob
Despite seemingly like a novice from the original post, it's actually not quite the case. More a case of TÒ much going on, but not enough thinking.
I've replaced the Rotors before. Have a look at the odometer reading above for a laugh. I even had one year when the old girl only went to the dump and back a few times..., 300 km for the year that time.
A few more this year but not many.
Your spot on about the brake pad wear V the reservoir level dripping though.
I'm guessing the seals have gone on 1 or the rear callipers. Wonder whether the longer dog bones did this... (should it be the case).
Heading out of town this weekend for the first time since 2019
I'll take a spare bottle of fluid just in case.
Will do a full rebuild at Christmas. Probably won't drive it again after this week
Cheers
Lyndon
