Hi all,
I am new here. I have purchased the topo maps, traveller app (on my phone) and have just become a member.

I used the topo maps on a recent trip through central oz and they were great!!

I am under the impression that I can plan treks offline and on my PC and then save them for navigation on my phone later. I just cant work out how? When I goto download the traveller app on my PC, it wants to charge me again for it.

Thanks for any help in advance.

G'day Mushie,

Page 19 of the Traveller manual will tell you all about constructing Treks.

This Quick Start Guid was written for an earlier version of Traveller, but it might help. Page 13 for building a Trek:

The Traveller licence for your phone allows you to put the app an as many devices using that OS as you have. The licence is good for only one platform. You will have to buy it again if you want to use it on a Windows device.

Your EOTopo2021 licence applies to all devices on all platforms that run Traveller.

As an alternative to buying a Windows copy of Traveller, as a paid up member you can access the browser-based Traveller app which will work on all platforms that can run Opera, Chrome or Edge.

Read this page for further info on the above.

Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply.
Bit of a bummer you need to purchase it again.
I'll look into the browser option.

Be aware that it won't navigate so you can't use it as a laptop navigator - the GPS stuff has been disabled. But it's good for planning.

Mushie

The Web App version that Frank refers to can be found in My App Control Panel.

On the website go to the home page, Traveller tab then scroll down to my App control panel…or. . Go to your Account middle tab top right, then Traveller App control panel.

Do your planning as Frank has described, name it, save it, go to your travelling device, update data manager & your Trek should be there in Treks.

Edit, you can plan a Trek offline, (will only get straight line navigation ) but need to be online at some point to transfer it from one device to another.

Regards

G'day Lout,

1) On your PC, log into EO with the same credentials as your Traveller account.

2) At the top right, click the blue Account button.

3) In the window that opens, click the Traveller Control Panel button in the top row of buttons.

4) In the next window, under Web App, click the Open button.

5) If this is the first time you have used the Web App, you will have to log in to your user account using the same credentials you used when setting up Traveller on your mobile device - the blue User account button. When done, click the white back arrow at the top right of the Web App window in the browser.

5a) Next you will also have to downloadPlaces & Treks - the blue Data Manager button.Track Logs and User Manual will auto download. When done, click the white back arrow at the top right of the Web App window in the browser, then click the blue Done button.

5b) You should now be returned to the Map screen.

6) If you have used the Web App before and you are correctly logged in, you won't have to do the steps in 5 to 5b above; step 4 should take you straight to the Map screen.

7) Now you can use Traveller's Search function (or click a place icon) to find a Place, just as you would on a mobile device. Click the green squiggly line to Goto it and carry on as if you were building a Trek on a mobile device. When finished, Save your trek.

8) On your mobile device, go to Data Manager and re-download Places & Treks. This will load the new trek you just created on your PC into your mobile device.

Cheers
