Good mate had a later model G60 Patrol.Orange and white. 3 speed 4l straight six petrol, and very noisy in the cabin. Can't imagine sharing it with a 40 gallon drum of petrol for two weeks, even at 5mph.

Yes Peter, great book, I find it fascinating that she spent some time explaining how she and the kids when ahead into Birdsville in the supporting Land Cruiser when he stayed behind to make repairs on the truck, and how she arrived a day before her husband in the Nissan Patrol.

Thanks for that suggestion, Peter. I just bought that book on Amazon, the Kindle version, for under $10. Reg’s book Geology is Fun is another great read.
