Lightweight Forward Fold Off Roader They claim the ball weight is 120 kg. That would be the unladen weight. Look where most of the fridge cabinet and pantry are. Half the weight that you place in the fridge section would be carried on the ball. You would probably not be able to use the pantry at all because most of the weight in there would appear on the ball.

I note many of these campers have a lot of storage located ahead of the main trailer body. Have any of you with that style of camper weighed the ball weight when you have loaded up that front storage? I note that many of the utes with broken backs have these front loaded campers in tow. If they load as front heavy as I suspect, no wonder there are so many utes out there that have had broken backs.

What year model is your Outback? The latest ones (2021) onwards are rated to take a 200kg max ball load, but earlier models were a lot less than this. I think the 2016 model was only 120kg. The max towball load should be in the owners manual.

Depending on how much camper you are chasing, you could look at A-van's Aliner range for lightweight/low-ball-weight units.
