Looking for feedback from existing Members... relating to the annual Member sticker. Do you like receiving an annual sticker? Do you display your sticker on your vehicles? Do you think it is worthwhile to you (pride/sense of belonging/conversation starter/attract other members for a chat). Have your say here. The question is: should we continue annual Member stickers in 2023? The question stems from a review of costs so we need to justify its worth to you. Yes/No. Give reasons if you wish.
PS: We don't envisage any change to Lifetime Members who receive a parcel containing a Polo Shirt, Cap, Stubby Holder and 2 stickers (Lifetime Sticker and a windscreen sticker).

Hi David & Michelle
I don't use the sticker as I prefer not to put stickers of any kind on my vehicle. Perhaps those who do not want stickers could elect somehow not to receive one with
membership renewal.

Thanks for your reply Steve. Yes that is one of the considerations - offering an opt in for the sticker during the checkout process. Will be interesting to see what other responses we get.

We stuck ours on when first joined several years ago it’s still there but in all the years it’s been there no one ever commented.
I say cut the cost and dont bother with them in future.

Hi David and Michelle
Re stickers, I am quite happy not to receive one as I never use stickers on my vehicle, so maybe an opt in option at renewal is the way to go.

Hi David and Michelle,
I think having a Member sticker on the vehicle is good as it identifies you to other members.
I have met several other EO members through my sticker.
However, I see no need for annual
membership currency stickers. Save your costs.

I can not remember receiving any annual stickers so it will not mean any difference to me. However, the last one I remember receiving is on a previous vehicle, I would appreciate a new one for my current vehicle.

Hi Peter,
As a Member with a "Lifetime" account it doesn't expire so you don't renew and therefore you should have a sticker that says "Lifetime Member" whereas the annual members on subscription just get one with the currency of the year in which they are financial.
We have a system to allow you to get replacements stickers if required. Follow this link to the
ExplorOz online shop and towards the bottom if you are logged in you will see the option to order your
Replacement Lifetime Member sticker. Please order your replacement via this method.

Sticker for me please. I overlap them on the rear window so only the current face is showing with all the years lined up underneath. I,ve met a couple of other members via the stickers. Keep sending them. No one forces you to put them on your vehicle.

Maybe consider just printing the year date.

Only use them as they disintegrate.
Opt in would be the better way to go. My spare tire advertises EO as
well.

Nick, some of us 'older' members still hold to our social standards. Some of today's advertising is clever and crude.
And it is not John Baas that I see "in the gutter". A cheap shot!

Most Definitely i think a sticker is a good idea for others to see as a talking point and could help in either yourself reaching out to others or other people reaching out to you to to talk about the exploreoz experience and learn from each other if you see the sticker say in a caravan
park, also it is good advertising for exploreoz i have one on my truck im also a life member

Personally I love my explore Oz sticker, or any sticker on my car to be honest, I've only got the one exploreoz sticker on at the moment as it's my first year being a member but it would be great to put member stickers on each year! I vote yes for annual stickers

Promotion of the business and a sense of community an important thing. Not sure stickers help there.
Other merch, especially caps, we’ve found really do. Branded mugs prompt discussion also around the maps of a morning!

I always display an ExplorOz sticker on my vehicle, but don't believe a sticker with year identification is necessary. A sticker should have an indefinite "period of currency" subject to weather exposure.
A sticker displaying ExplorOz association is all that should be required and whether members are current, or otherwise, in a particular year is irreverent to the promotion and recognition of ExplorOz "community".
Drop the member/year identification to save money.

My fist sticker is old and needs replacing and attracts attention from both other member and new people who are interested in ExplorOz
I am a lifetime member and do not receive anything.

The only sticker I have on the vehicle rear window is the Royal Flying Doctor and their contact number.
Have always had the member ExplorOz sticker on the wheel cover on the rear of the van.
I would be happy to continue to receive the sticker but if costs come into it I am happy either way.

I always have the sticker on my 4WD.
For ages I've had all the mainstream navigation apps on my phone/tablet, and have always admitted to preferring ExplorOz over the rest.
The sticker has helped to start that conversation when others ask what this "ExplorOz" is all about.
Being WA based has always been a good conversation starter as
well.
But.. really.. I'd be happy to have just one non-date-satmped sticker that can just stay on my truck. It would achieve the same result.
Maybe have the option to request a replacement at renewal time.

No for me thank you.
I did apply one a dozen years ago to our CT but it started to fray and became "ugly", never bothered since
Suggest you make it part of a new members kit but optional on people renewing
membership, so you hopefully save some money.
Postage probably costs you more than the sticker, but that's still 5% or so of rejoining.

Thanks for all the feedback folks!
We would like to keep offering stickers but also don't wish to contribute to unnecessary plastics, paper and cost wastage. So going forward we will setup a system in your Member account where you can opt in/out of receiving a renewal sticker. We will send a Member newsletter with instructions when we have added this option.
