Ranger tank because that's a common amount of fuel so many have as they rely on
places like this to be available. I already have a bigger tank because from decades of experience I don't rely on availability so ensure I can get to the next one if needed.
This case is far more than just no fuel, it's that the whole roadhouse is out of action for fuel, accommodation, and food until further notice. That also means truckies don't have a food stop either. This place is also a bit of an entertainment location for the area's cattle stations and so effects more than just travellers.
As others have written here and elsewhere, headwinds across there can make a big difference. Personally, I've always topped up there regardless, or in earlier days at
Barry Caves.
