Good morning travellers, campers and caravaners,
I trust you are all well and travelling safe, I need your sound advice please, We are heading for Tassie just after Christmas and instead of going straight across the Nullabor, I thought I would do a little side trip and do the Norseman to Balladonia track towing a 23ft caravan, semi off road, now never having been down in this part of the country before those that have driven this track can you please advise me if it is possible to drive a 23ft van down this track, with a stock standard 200 series Landcruiser, as the tow vehicle.
your responses eagerly awaited. I should also have mentioned the track I am looking at is the telegraph track Norseman to Balladonia

I did this track about 18months ago (West to East) its a lovely drive for the first 90%.. the last 10% as you approach the intersection with the Balladonia Track at the Eastern End is really bad, very corrugated and rough. You'll possibly regret taking a 23' van on this section.

Technically as you rejoin the Balladonia track (for the little section north into Balladonia) you're effectively onto the closed "Balladonia Track".. but meh.

I had a quick look for photos, I only took a few on the track.. Link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/TZ4hjT3cRof21unT7

thank you very much for the photo's Dunca2h did you have any problems, and how long did you spend on the track all told, as I am looking at spending at least three days, as we carry enough water for two weeks, and take it slow I am hoping that will be ok.

We spent just two nights on the track, we started late on the first day after a counter meal for lunch in Norseman.. I'm sure you'll be fine. The last section will be a pain, but the rest of the track makes up for it, some lovely vistas over salt lakes, some granite outcrops to climb and mostly nice sandy track to drive on.

Superb little campsite here..https://www.exploroz.com/places/86591/wa+jyndabinbin-rock

Was a touch boggy at the time but I parked up on a large outcrop of granite to camp.. we had a huge fire and it was a great night.

Hi Broodie
We did it about 3years ago, with a camper trailer. No problems, but the Eastern few kilometres were pretty sandy and rough. Made it through without letting the tyres down, but it was a bit dicey but didn’t want to slow down in the loose sand.
Definitely let the tyres down for the Eastern end.
Turned north to Balladonia, so missed the final Eastern few kilometres which I would assume would be more sandy road of unknown condition.
Road is pretty straight, but there are interesting points all along.
Camper trailer was OK, but I’m not sure about a caravan.
I probably wouldn’t. Not many cars to help if you need it.
Some camp areas a bit tight, but generally good.
Cheers

This is the website we always use for this track.
Done it a few times now and all I can say is it's variable and drive to the conditions with the right tyre pressures. But we tow an AOR Matrix with a modified LC200 so there's a considerable difference in what we can comfortably tackle

Travelled up the Parmango/Balladonia Roads back in June, ‘18. Couple of photos taken at junction of Telegraph Track.
