Another good read with great photos, especially about
Peak Hill that had me stepping back until I realised this was WA, the NSW version was often on our path as we head north each year. We are keen to get out there again soon. Regards Fiona & Paul.

Yes a very different
Peak Hill in WA to NSW. I used to live in
Parkes NSW as a child on the CSIRO property at the radio telescope which is literally next door to
Peak Hill and Alectown. I would catch the Alectown bus to school in town about 40km to
Parkes. There was no active mining in the early 80's in
Peak Hill when I lived there - that didn't happen until later, long after my family moved back to
Sydney.
Peak Hill WA is just to the west of the Great Northern Highway and is a great side trip on your journey between
Newman and
Perth. Glad you liked it. There is so much to see when you get off the main thoroughfare and some very underrate
places that we decided to explore on that trip.
