Good Evening,

I have a Truma BN14 that’s working fine on 240v and gas but has stopped working on 12v.

I have checked the fuse at the isolation switch that is normally used to operate the 12v heater, all good there. I assume the fuse on the circuit board on the heater would work across all 3 modes of operation?… and haven’t checked it yet.

I’ve scoured the internet to see if anyone’s had a similar problem and come up with nothing.

Any ideas?

Check the 12 volt wiring, our van fridge needs an active sensing wire, when the ignition is turned on and will deenergise when the ignition is turns off. This will prevent the car battery being discharged when operating on 12 volts. Also check for an earth wire as it is needed to complete a circuit.

"but has stopped working on 12v."

Did it ever work on 12 V? I doubt that it ever did. The handbook says "L. P. Gas and 230 / 240 V Electric Storage Water Heater Model B 10 / B 14 from 08/2008." The PDF file below is a copy of the handbook. There is no mention of 12 V operation in it. The 12 V supply is just for the operation of the control circuitry,
