Just wondering if any of you out there have removed the clutch damper and just not replaced it after it has failed.

I had a 3 litre BT50 and replaced the dual mass clutch with a solid mass clutch.
It was the best decision I made. No further issues until I sold it 100,000 kms later. I was towing a 2.4 tonne caravan most of those kms.

Same here had the dual mass replaced 18 months ago with a regular clutch I was told it was a little heavier duty than the factory one so didn't need to go an actual heavy duty clutch. Only had it done as 2nd gear went and the mechanic said it was a cheaper option.

I have no knowledge of the Mazda but I did have a diesel Jackaroo and the damper on the fly wheel failed on it.
It was replaced with a solid fly wheel and I noticed no difference.
