Was a lot of rain.
Have you checked the Upper Gascoyne and
Meekatharra shire websites?
Lot of cautions and some roads are 4wd only and no towing.
I traveled the Dooley Downs and Ashburton Downs roads a few years ago.
There were a lot of
creek crossings! Dry then.
Good luck, it’s lovely country.
Cheers

Thanks. Those shire names were useful. All looks open to 4x4. Cheers

From Karijini to
Newman & then south to a way past Kumarina there are some very good & enjoyable station tracks which take you across to Mt Augustus, with some beaut spots to
camp on the Gascoyne River along the way if you stop at the stations to ask.

I ended up driving this road yesterday .. zero issues.. the first 150klms is a bit ordinary and then the road is absolutely superb into Mt Augustus.
I climbed Mt Augustus today .. smashed out the hike in 4 hrs! Not bad for a once fat 53yo I thought.. the coroners report on the deaths of hikers on this mountain was a very sobering read though.
