Does anybody have recent information on the road conditions from
Winton to
Jundah via
Lark Quarry. Travelling in a 4WD.

Haven’t been down the
Winton-
Lark Quarry section for a while, Dick, but it should be good as the graders have done a lap down there. Some heavy transports use that section too.
Past the LQ turn off, to Mayne
River crossing(“Rocky Crossing”), may be okay as
well as after the crossing, up to Barcoo
Shire boundary. Just take care approaching any dips or gullies. Roads in the Barcoo Shire are usually very good, but wise to be alert for any bulldust or washouts.
It’s a good drive through that way, not much “scenery” until you get to Rocky Crossing. If you take the Old Cork turnoff, a few kms before LQ turnoff, drive along for 3-4kms, there’s excellent
views over the Williams Valley, north past Caribrooke Station & across to the hills bordering the Diamantina. A good spot for smoko or lunch.
