GPS Receiver

I use a Garmin Glo2 as a GPS receiver to connect to my non-GPS iPad mini using Exploroz maps, it works really well, very pleased with my purchase.

There is no subscription required to use the Garmin GLO2 but there is for some of their other products such as their PLB Garmin inReach.

The GLO2 is a one-off purchase with no ongoing usage fees.

I also use the Garmin Glo2 on the Ipad that does have gps and wifi. The glo2 give me more accurate tracking, but that is my opinion only, as the Glo2 offers more satilites to cover your trip. On the other hand, have you looked at StephenL (member) blog about gps. It is a good read and offer you some more information. Hope this helps,

Awesome thank you both for the information and feedback. I will have a look for the Stephen L post as suggested. And will also look further at the Garmin Glo2 as the reviews I have read are awesome. Was just confused where is says there is a subscription. Cheers :-)

I use a Bad Elf GPS receiver for my non GPS iPad. Works really well, plugs into the lightening connector port, and then is powered by a cable plugged into the Bad Elf back to a USB socket in the car.
