It appears from the SA Desert Parks page that both the Halligan's Bay and Level Post Bay access tracks are still closed.
Will be in the area end Sept & was planning on spending a couple of days camping / looking at the lake while it has water in it .
Does anyone now of any other access tracks / camp spots on / close to the lake?
Thanks
Fabio

Don’t be fooled thinking the lake has water in it……..it’s a ploy to get punters to take a plane flight from William Creek.

Any water in sections of the surface are effected by wind and not what you expect to see.

Lake Eyre South

See Lake Eyre Status
Enough water in Lake Eyre South and it will be right beside the Oodnadatta Track. Is it politics or pigheadedness keeping the main lake off limits? The LEYC link shows enough water in the southern lake now to be worth a look, but will be evaporating fast.

Any water that is in Lake Eyre south is only from local rain.

To get any water from Lake Eyre North, the lake must be completely full, and then drains into Lake Eyre South, and the last time that event occurred was 1974/1975.

Every time we have driven past on the Oodnadatta Track, it’s been as dry as the eye can see.
