Yes I see that they have arrived, they might bump into Lindy who's up there for a look given the new interest in her trauma and the 6 figure payment from Current Affair. At least theyre on their way
home now so soooon we'll have Lyn back and chatting.

I've missed her - she makes more sense than Lone Wolf. He seems to have gone msising since the other night when he obviously overdosed on his medication. I've messaged him that he should send me a sticker since I've had 750 hits on one of my posts - but sadly, no reply. Anyone know where they took him. Hehehe! Maybe Willem found him!
Had Wayne from NSW here yesterday, nice to meet up with him and a couple of other EO people we chat to also.
Traffic slowed tonight - only 298 last night.

Ruth, we are heading your way, but not until October on our way back from wherever. Will it still be as busy? Am worried about the winds then, but we will persevere. Hope to meet you and put a face to all the words of wisdom,
Lynn2

I see that wolfie is logged on, just being a bit quite. Give him time and he'll fire up again. He must have reached the peak of his bio rythym cycle the other day...lol

Hi Lynn2, look forward to seeing you. Shouldn't be too busy and hopefully the winds will have blown out during September. Hahaha!
Ray, see you haven't managed to get the halo up yet!

John,
Sorry to hijack your post, I was just reading an archived post you had on Hercules Tyres. These were recommended to me by the local TyrePower dealer. Did you find anything out about them. Any tales of experience from others? The ones I was shown are the Chinese AT ones for $180 for a 265/75 16, 10 ply

Rolande, have a set on now and did the Simpson trip with them and no drama. There had been a couple of posts from others after I asked but not much of substance.
It was funny at
Oodnadatta a guy observed the tyres and said he had been into the workshop there and the whole corner of the
shop was full of them. What are they? I don't know but the Innaminka dealer is reputed to be using nothing else except on order. That is from our local workshop which is 4x4 and
farm vehicle oriented.
They are a more open tread than the BFG ATs I have been near and throw clay out
well. The ones I fitted seem the same specs you have there but a little down on plies I would have thought. They have some LT heavy duty ply rating just round the corner if not those.
I paid $172 including GST I think it was which makes a nice attraction. I am learning of them all the time and seeing more around servicing the rural community - 2/3 preice of BFGs so if they get a few ks up they will be great, perhaps a little noiser that I was used to with the Bridgestones that are sooo easy to pierce with odd stones.

JohnR,
Thanks for the info, the tyre guy I saw had 8 ply on the floor for a little less. He said they are an Ameican Co. who now also buy tyres from a Chinese manufacturer. The 10 ply are coming in a container as we speak. He has fitted them to logging contractor vehicles and only had returns with 100mm lumps of blue metal stuck throgh them, would find it hard to find a tyre that didn't split with the type of stuff they through down around pine plantations. Hasn't had to replace due to failure of the tyre yet. May give them a try and compare in say 12 months time.
Thanks again
Rolande

Rolande, the local crew will fit what you like, but their opinions of the Hercules are very high. They seem to be of a good standard. They have been going
well on mining company vehicles that are round this way. The ATs that I have clean
well and get a grip. They are meatier than BFGs and have some muddies too when I want any for one of the other utes.

I saw a car at the shopping centre the other day with explor-oz stickers etc all over it. Wondered who it might be.
