Anyone put 31x10.5in tyres on a 2.6 litre Rodeo before? Was just wondering how the gearing was affected in both low and high range. I have had problems with the low range gearing not being as low as I would like when going down hills. However the gearing feels too low in high range at 100km/h.

As you would know it's common to see Hilux etc with these bigger tyres but have seen very few Rodeos with these same tyres.

Any of your thoughts (experienced or otherwise) would be appreciated.

I did this to a 2.8 t/d Rodeo I had many years ago. Looked good and plenty of clearance, but compounded how terribly gutless the thing was. Petrol may not be affected quite so badly, but you will probably see a fair increase in fuel consumption.

Thanks for the info. A mate of mine has 32s on an old 2.4 diesel Hilux and reckons it has minimal effect on gearing (can't see how). I will get them and report back for any interested Rodeo owners out there...................or am I all alone here?
