The Banjo
Interested in fitting a
snorkel to the 99 SE/TD to keep the filter cleaner on bush trips - (that wheel
well entry point is a bummer).... might come in handy for water crossings too ! Would appreciate
feedback from any Jack owners with snorkels - brand, supplier/fitters, performance, noise/vibration etc.

Banjo- I have had one fitted to my 99 TD Jackaroo manual, and to date no increase in fuel consumption or performance - Have been told that with performance filters can see improvement but still under warranty so not interested yet. As for noise, no problem inside the cabin with passenger side window up, a bit throaty at low speeds (ie minimal wind noise) but I like that. Yes, I get vibrations, noticed it straight away. Fixed it with 2xhiclones, seemed to move the air in a different way, but did not help economy or performance after extensive testing so I got my money back. Unfortunately, you will have to put up with vibrations at about 2500 - 2700 rpm but only minor and only localised to the corner of the vehicle the
snorkel is mounted on. Not major and easy to get used to.
By the way, got a Safari with air ram on top. About $650 from O.L.
Hope this helps
