I am currently in the proccess of buying a 90' MWB Landcruiser with 1PZ engine. From my research this is not the most common engine and I was wandering if anyone has any information regarding its performance/specifications and its suitability for a 4wd beginner. I was also wandering if the bigger 1HZ 6 cylinder is possible to be fitted into that particular model in the future without any major modifications.

The motor will be fine it is the same as a 1hz with one less cylinder.
If it is going ok, leave it alone and enjoy your vehicle.

Ive heard accelleration is similar to the 6 cyl until you tow a load.
Its possible to fit any 4,5 or 6 cyl landcruiser diesel or petrol engine into any 70 series if the input spline suits. I think the 1HZ would be the most simple swap you could do.
I have a 1988 73 series which has the same body as yours with a 6 cyl petrol and its offroad abilities are exceptional. 1990 models are uncommon so I would grab it if its in good condition.
