I decided to lighten the load on my library shelves and I have selected some 30 books to give away to EO members. They are totally free and free from postage. Think of it as a late Christmas gift from me.
Distributed on a first come, first served basis.
DO NOT claim books by responding on this Thread. Only claim by email to me.
I will mark entries "SOLD" on the list as they are taken up.

Happy reading.

Good onya!
I did the same some 20 years ago but left books at waiting rooms in a couple of hospitals.
These days I leave them at book swap stalls as

Good on you Allan. Being one of the guys who has been there done that, your generosity will help younger people to also enjoy our way of life.
This is a really good idea. Maybe other EO members might do the same. Also the people who do get books from Allan, or anyone else for that matter, read them and pass them on the same way at some time in the future.
I have some books which I want to keep for the time being, but I have marked them all, and my daughter will do the same as Allan should I pass on before I also give them away.
Maybe David & Michelle might consider having a book swapping page, or a library and called "AB's Book Club"
Thanks again Allan.

Thanks Chris, but really, I wasn't being altruistic, I just needed to get more shelf room.
Incidentally, 16 (Edit, 18) of the 32 books have been claimed so far.
Your idea of a Book Swap page is a good one but please, call it just that.
I must say that using the
Classifieds is not an easy administration for this purpose.
And management of the postage could be an issue

Of the original offering of 32 books only 8 remain (EDIT 28 Jan: Only 4 remain) so it would seem to have been a good idea.
Maybe I should start looking at some other shelves?
Thanks for your support guys.

Of the original 32 books we are now down to only 3 still on offer. They are……….
*Len Beadell's *Around the World in 80 Delays. (Documenting his world trip) 1997.
*The
Kimberley (An adventurer's guide) Ron & Viv Moon 2006.
*Dune is a Four-Letter Word (First
Simpson Desert motorised crossing) Griselda Sprigg 2001.
I did not find Lennie's "80 Delays" very interesting. In fact I didn't even read all of it.
However I am surprised that Ron Moon's
Kimberley Guide has not been asked for. Admittedly it is a 2006 publication but Ron's advice is always good and some things never change.
As for Griselda Sprigg's 'Dune',
well it was a notable event to cross the Simpson in 2001 without even wheel tracks to guide the way and is a good read. I do commend this book, especially to those who have crossed the Simpson in more recent years.
So these last three books are just waiting to find a new home. I'll even make it an offer of all three books at 50% of the advertised price. If there is no take up in the next week I will close out the deal and they may find a home at the op-
shop.
So c'mon guys….. let's make it a clean sweep. Just send an email to my address in 'My Profile>About Me' below. DO NOT use 'Member Message', it often fails to work for me.
