NEXT MONTH I WAS INTENDING ON TAKING A SMALL ROAD TRIP UP THE COBB HIGHWAY.
I HAVE BEEN WARNED THAT A SECTION OF THE ROAD BETWEEN IVANHOE TO WILCANNIA IS UNSEALED. CAN ANYONE LET ME KNOW JUST HOW MANY K'S OF UNSEALED ROAD THERE IS AND IF IT IS SUITABLE FOR NORMAL STATON WAGON.

If you look at Exploroz Traveller online, here on this site it shows that section of road as all sealed. Even if it weren't I'd be confident (subject to significant weather events) that it would be finefor a 2wd station wagon.

See 'My Profile' (below) for link to our Aussie travel blog, now in it's 8th year.

Hi Ivan, don't use all caps in your posts. It's the equivalent of yelling. :-)

It that were true, everytime a sentence is started it would be HIGH volume CAPITAL and then immediately low volume for the rest of the word. Or is it just a belief by some?

I think in most cases using ALL capitals is not the done thing on line ¿ not to say you can't..
BUT this could be considered Off Topic ...

Nothing to do with woke. All capital letters for text has been considered shouting for the 30 or so years I have been online.

Reply makes seven so far and only one addressed the OPs inquiry. The rest have been trivial bulshit.

You missed the spelling mistake Michael.
Kind of you to leave that one for someone else.
I know yours was in gest but the gang will be lining up as usual.

Considering the average age of contributors to this forum it makes sense to type in caps. We are all a little hard of hearing - I SAID WE ARE ALL A LITTLE HARD OF HEARING. Our eyesight isn't getting any better either.

Quote - 'How come you shouted "op"?'

The letters OP are initials, so they should be in capitals. That is another problem on all forums, those with sloppy English do not use capital letters when they type their text, When they use lower case letters speed readers tend to miss those terms and then have to read things a second time to make sense out of what they are reading.

I'm not going to miss another spelling error in case someone thinks I'm sloppy with my English. I'm pretty sure gest should be jest in the context it was used. ;-)

Cannot believe the mentallity of some people on this forum. So bloody what if someone types in capitals???? You must lead a very shallow , boring life if you have to whinge about it. I know people who only ever write in capitals! Big deal. All this "capitals is shouting" bullshite just shows what a narrow view on life you have.

The forum is about travel, products, mapping and general ideas around travel and camping. Not some bloody stupid English grammar class!!! Stop nitpicking and get on with your life..

G/day Big Fish.

I agree, the trouble is the nitpicking has been going on since the forum began, and i don't think its going away any time soon, as far as getting on with their life, sadly some just don't seem to have one.

Cheers Axle.

Good afternoon Gentlemen. Words fail me. A bloke asks a question about the Cobb Highway and because he used upper case letters, a few armchair experts have jumped on him. Who gives a rats arse how he wrote it I understood it and this crap about upper case means shouting is new to me. I look at 6 or 7 forums and this one is the only one to drift off topic with ease. There is a fair chance Ivan68 will never ask another question. It is refreshing to read comments from the likes of Alan Mccall, Phil Bianchi. Peter and Margaret, David and Michele Mick O and many others who get out and do what it says on the mast head, Explore Oz. I hope all the above is spelt correctly. All the best Mick

So people get triggered about all caps, and people get triggered about people getting triggered about all caps. It's amusing that they're all off topic...a post complaining about off topic is itself off topic. I think the trick is to just let it go. But, I really feel for the people who thought that exclamation marks were for shouting. Apparently they've been doing it wrong all this time.
