Quote "Tare weight is expected to come in at around 2900kg, with an ATM of 4000kg." Is it really an off-road rig with a weight like that?

I've been out of the loop on van prices by the looks of it. It's a bit pricey for something that is supposed to be taken off road and potentially get some scratches from over hanging branches getting to that isolated camp site.
I wonder if they'll give the 4x4 Australia guys one to take on a test drive ?

Unless you upgrade the cruisers towing capacity they'll have to trade it for a Ram or similar.
I expect loaded up with all the champus the corgis and fitting a safe to store the jewellery in it's going to be pushing 4t.

Just like most of the novice dual cab ute owners running around these days towing huge vans.

I'm sure there will be a few people buying one of these along with a Chevvy Silverado 2500 HD tow vehicle so they can travel Australia attending all the " Save the Planet rallies "

If they get this version of the Silverado, they won't be hypocritical. Of course, they may also be stranded due to lack of charging stations and impaired range caused by the weight of the van. :)

I can remember a lengthy thread, perhaps on EO too, about an owners experiences with an early example of this van.
It read like a horror story, with all the dramas, and the thread, and anything relating to the incidents, seem to have disappeared.

I too have a recollection of Bruder being embroiled in a legal battle over not meeting some regulations or other with their earlier models.

It's amazing how much stuff gets deleted from forums when solicitors start requesting access. Newhilux comes to mind.

Bruder Expedition Pty Ltd, a specialist camper manufacturer, was involved in a legal dispute with a former customer, Mr. Charles J. Coles. Mr. Coles published a website detailing multiple issues with his Bruder camper-trailer, which reportedly cost him over $200,000. Bruder took legal action against Mr. Coles for injurious falsehood, and the court ruled in favour of Bruder by default, as Mr. Coles did not defend his claims.

Additionally, Bruder pursued a separate case against Ms. Tracey Leigh, the administrator of the "Lemon Caravans and RVs in Aus" Facebook group, for allegedly harming their business by publishing false statements about their caravans. The jury initially awarded Bruder $357,000, but Ms. Leigh appealed the ruling, and the Supreme Court of Queensland set aside the original orders. The High Court of Australia later dismissed Bruder's appeal, ending the long-running legal battle.

It's quite a complex case with significant implications for both consumers and manufacturers.
