Has anyone experienced similar? Two days ago we were driving to
Charleville Botanic
Park, which has two loop tracks accessing the
park and the riverside. The tracks were shown on the EOTopo map driving to the
park, but when we started driving on the tracks they disappeared ! I tried zooming in and out, turning off and restarting the app, but to no avail, they simply weren't there.
On EOTopo 2024, offline maps (the ones I use constantly). When driving back to
Charleville the tracks once more showed up on the map!
I placed a query to the help desk and was pretty much told I must have done something wrong (changed maps midstream, or similar). Total nonsense.
with this, the maps occasionally not booting up and the location freezing if I stop the vehicle for five minutes or so, I'm wondering if another option is recommended? I was reluctant to upgrade to the 2025 maps due to the other issues, now I'm definitely holding off, for now.
Tracks circled disappeared...
Cheers, Mark

Mark : I thought this might be an excuse to update the the latest version.
What are the other issues?
I did read to sync content regularly?
Don't know if that would have any benefits.
I don't think the link is working ..
I'm not having any joy viewing map .

Yeah, sorry Nick, always forgetting how to input images here. I sync regularly. Not suggesting any attempt to get me to upgrade, just confused how this could happen and wary of paying more to upgrade. I was looking to see if this had happened to anyone else...
I've been a regular user since the mapping system was offered, but I have found the odd glitch here and there. Fair enough, but if this happened on a track which was more remote it could cause me issues (force me to read a real map??).
Cheers,

I also am not able to see the map in the thread. However, if I right click on where the image should have appeared, then click on "Open Image in New Tab," a new tab opens next to the one I was in and it displays the image OK.

I have never has tracks disappear but I have had location freezing after stopping for a few minutes with the car turned off.
I believe the location freezing problem is to do with my android head unit, not the program, as it never happens on my phone. For the car head unit I wired in a change over switch to run the head unit of either car ignition on, or always on from the auxiliary battery. I change to always on if I am relying on exploroz for navigation.

I have a Galaxy Tab A ( I think that is the model). I updated the app on it a couple of days ago but it is just not up to the task of running the app. It used to run it ok although a little slow but no longer. I removed the app from it.
Galaxy phones run it easily. The head unit in my car is a little slow but plenty good enough.

Curious.. I wonder if it was a zoom level issue? Did you try zooming in and out as a test?

Zoomed in/out, rebooted the app, restarted the tablet. No difference. Only appeared later once I'd left the area. Weird. To be honest, I thought there might be a simple explanation but the help desk couldn't suggest anything other than my own error.

I have for a few years been doing weed control and use Exploroz to see where I have been in a paddock and mark trees. Using a Galaxay A32 phone and now an Galaxy S24 Phone I can pull my phone out of my pocket 50 times a day and location is always there.
All I would do it it were me is a full uninstall of exploroz, update the tab software then reinstall exploroz. If you have a another device you can compare the two if you have issues.

This has never happened before. If it reoccurs I will reinstall.
Thanks.

Hi
Silkwood
I had a look on my iPhone. I have EO 2024 and there are no tracks at all shown between Percival Rd and Westgate. This is the case at all zoom levels. Exactly the same on my iPad. Tracks just not there.
Hope that helps.

Shows just fine on my iPhone. Disappears when magnification gets below 9, but that's just a zoom in or out .
Cheers

I have just been looking at the disappearing tracks on my phone and can give you a probable explanation.
I can use 2025 maps when I have phone or wifi service, and the tracks are shown.
My offline map set is 2023 and does not show those tracks.
So I believe the older map sets either did not have these tracks or are removed when the new mapset is released.
So if you left
Charleville with phone or wifi connection and 2025 map selected the tracks would be showing. When you lost phone or wifi connection it would change to your offline map and not show.
Once you came back into phone or wifi connection it would change back to the 2025 map and show again.

I have the 2024 mapset installed, offline. Cannot see how this could affect the map set. Not suggested by the help line, either.

I have 2023 offline maps and they do not show those tracks.
I can use the 2025 maps when online and the the tracks are shown.
So if I have 2025 online maps selected I can see the tracks until I lose internet connection, the app will then switch to the 2023 offline map and the tracks will disappear. When I regain internet the app will change back to 2025 online maps and the tracks will reappear.
I simulate this by turning off wifi and switching to flight mode, and changing back again.

Can't see how, Nick. I was using my tablet which does not have a sim (I either hotspot, which I wasn't at the time, or use Starlink- again not using at the time). The tracks were visible when I was right next to the at
the entrance, then not visible about 200m down the track! Even with coverage it shouldn't have made a difference..
Not happened since, I'm calling it a certified glitch (technical term).

Thks
silkwood, I was thinking coming in and out of internet service and swapping between different maps sets.
What were the issues you spoke about in this post about the new version 2025 I.E why you didn't want to upgrade ..if you don't mind explaining.
Cheers

Not lots, to be honest. I've had drop outs, Map freezing and having to be rebooted and maps not showing features visible on other map sets (Memory Map/Hema for example). Otherwise I have been quite happy with the EoTopo maps since their release.
I am reluctant to pay for the upgrade maps at this point, will wait and re-evaluate the Memory Maps option.
Cheers, Mark

The recommendation is to set maps to offline as the default to prevent any occasional glitches moving in and out internet service.
