G'day,

My beloved '94 GLX 7 seater - owned and serviced since new - lately won't change into O/D. Manual disengage and engage of the O/D button changes nothing. She still revs at around 3k doing approx., 60 kph.

Any-one know of or experience this at all?

Glad to have any comment.

Hi there GLX3000,

I'm not sure about the Paj's gearing, but 3000rpm at 60km/h seems really high. Is it getting into 3rd gear at all or is it holding in 2nd? Might be time for a visit to a transmission shop.

Does it happen to be in low range by any chance? I'm sure you would have picked up on the latter by now if it was the case, as the driving dynamics would be totally different.

In my Jackaroo, 60km/h in 3rd equates to about 2100rpm and in O/D is about 1400rpm.

Correction ... the Jackaroo in O/D 60km/h equates to 1600 rpm or so. Checked it last night though I forgot to check 3rd.
