Ok sit down and grab a beer because sometimes truth is weirder than fiction - the Tesla cybertruck has been fully recalled - because they used the wrong glue, yes glue, on an external panel of the vehicle.

Enough said, I can hear you all rolling around on the floor laughing.

The fact that a state of the art, greatest electric vehicle ever built simply has external panels glued on which have come loose thanks to water and the weather. Experts are saying that apart from a different glue the panels should also be physically attached to the other panels. Incorrect adhesive used is ridiculous. Many older Oz built cars had glued panels that even after 40 years are still holding together fast. Bloody common sense actually. Absolutely useless vehicle anyway. Cant tow, has many build issues, costs far to much for what it is and spares are hard to get at times and bloody expensive as well. Wouldn,t have one of musk,s swasticars if you gave me one.

Nothing to do with water and weather, but the correct glue and amount used.

They had a guy on TV the other day that wraps new vehicles straight from the showroom..

He showed examples how the panels were not fitted correctly, panels that had come off, all from the new vehicles that had never been on the road, and used his own personal vehicle as an example where the panels were solid.

Won't that spill the beer? and I find I can't sit down and roll around the floor at the same time. It is NOT uncommon for vehicles to have panels glued in! Commodore's, for a long time had the Firewall glued into the body. You will be SHOCKED, surprised and DISMAYED to find MOST panels of truck bodies are SIMPLY GLUED THERE. With no rivets or bolts showing, WHAT exactly, do you think is holding the panels to the frame??? Your Android or Iphone/ipad has it's battery glued onto the innards.
It seems to be you are finding out about glue, maybe a Sikafex or Polyurethane adhesive and it's common uses. Even double sided tape is used in some constructions!
Weird as it seems, there is NO FICTION about the use of ADHESIVES/ GLUES in our society! That is the Truth!

Sounds a bit deja vu back when the tiles were falling off the space shuttle on re-entry when the Engineers had used the wrong SikaFlex to glue the heat tiles on the nose of the shuttle....
Note : Not the same for Ford Engineers , they didn't make the same mistake when designing the Ford Louisville (lol)

Don't spill your beer haha ;)))
Cheers Nick

Sika holds most of NZ together.
Going by memory wasn't it Dow Corning taking the credit for the NASA contract back then?
