I have an aluminium, bottomless canopy on an alloy tray. Is drilling a hole in the tray corner/s and filling with a bathroom plug the way to do it? Smallest plug I can find is 25mm & my drill set goes to only 10mm. Maybe a blanking grommet to fit the smaller size would do? Cheers.

Get a hole saw kit if you really want to go up to 25mm. There is other alternatives, that might blow your budget.

You can get small tapered bung about the size of your finger, the type that are in small aluminium boat , just drill a hole to suit .

I have hole saws in my kit, though appear not to be bi-metal, so not ideal for metal(?)

Do you need to wash out the canopy from carrying a particular product because generally just a wipe over with a damp rag works.
Step drill bits come in various sizes and still can be useful for other jobs after you drill a large hole in the canopy.
Or you could fit a locking cat flap.

Step drill bits are something that didn't come in my tool kit - though I have just aquired some - thanks for the tip!

Mike.
If you must wash inside, park so it drains well to One corner and simply use a Wet Vac to suck up any needing removal. The wet vac can also be used to suck dry corners, laps and crevices otherwise holding moisture.

I didn't think of that, though I do have one of those vacs, I'll give it a go.
