If anyone is after the most up to date and accurate information there is only one place to get that Information…2025 Outback Floods on Facebook.

Ivan has posted below and is false information and not to be relied on.

My page is getting first hand information from the Premiers Office, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Arid Air Marree, Trevor Wright from Wrightsair William Creek,
Graziers on the Birdsville Track as well as Parks Rangers that are still in Innamincka.

The floods have broken all previous flood levels and flowing very fast and is now expected to cross the Birdsville Track sometime around mid May

Stephen I respect the fact that you have nothing better to do than monitor the floods and do it very well but how many more threads are you going to open promoting your FB page, this is the third so far, one is enough.

Good morning Qldcamper

The reason why I am promoting my FB page is to show others out there that some information that is being posted here on this form is very misleading and not accurate at all and could cause death or serious injury for anyone following what is said and reported here on the forum as gospel.

For example, thread 150211 is so far from the truth, that anyone not familiar with the area in question and took Ivan’s advise will be put into a life threatening situation, or at the worst incur thousands of dollars of fines from travelling on roads that have clearly been closed for many days, and that is only the start.

David and Michelle could then find themselves in court for allowing such blatant and completely wrong information to be posted on their site that they are ultimately responsible for.

That is when I put up an immediate new post to give the honest full facts, to which Ivan them abused me for doing so.

In reply to his abuse, both my reply and his reply were removed by Moderators, who in fact should have removed thread 150211 for allowing shuck a blatant and misleading forum post to be posted.

All I please ask is anyone posting any information on the floods to make sure they only post the truth and not post false information.

So who are you going to trust for the most accurate information that thousands of people all around Australia and the world are now following with full interest…….

Stephen,

Let David and Michelle worry about the legal implications.
For anyone to be stupid enough to travel in that direction based on a thread on the internet is going to go no matter what. Can't fix stupid.
You should know this forum by now, everyone is an expert on everything.
Pretty sure you have disagreed with my personal experiences in my career field more than once even if it was just jumping on the band wagon with the other FB experts.
Good on you for pointing out misleading info but do it in the thread it was presented on, don't start another thread every time, it gets confusing.

Stephen,

read the forum RULES

Advertising and Self promotion.
Continual referral of content away from the EO Forum is against the rules.

Plus you are NOT the one and only source of providing information on the floods.

Some of us are living and working in the effected areas.

I was only pointing out blatant miss information and why did you not correct it if you saw it.

I am not supplying information, it is people directly living in the effected areas.

Qldcamper, "You should know this forum by now, everyone is an expert on everything."

Spot on! There's so much F.I.G.J.A.M here now that I rarely bother.

Stephen,

You missed the point as per normal.

It is AGAINST THE FORUM RULES TO PROMOTE CONTENT THAT YOU PRODUCE AWAY FROM THE EXPLOROZ SITE.

Just because you have a few contacts in some of the flooded areas does NOT make you the " Be all and end all.of the subject"

As for correcting your mistakes for you, I refuse to even bother looking at your Facebook page, so keep up the good work providing misinformation.

I understand that you are only trying to help people that could be effected by the floods whether it be for their personal safety or for the people that might be heading to or planning a trip up that way !

Don't worry about the numbskulls that think they know more than you and your contacts in the area affected on this matter !

Happy safe and dry travels

Cheers

The Facebook group seems to be mostly competitions about dates, photos of passing interest, cool videos, cutesy dog videos.. its hard to pick out actual usable information from the noise.

I'm straight to the government sites and shire sites for the best info.

Once again, wrong information…..

Did you see the video of the first water flowing down the Strezelecki and how it quickly surrounded Merty Merty station, at the base of one of the Sandhills at Moomba, the sheer destruction of flood ravaged houses…..

Stephen

Do you know if there are plans to run the Cooper Creek Ferry this year, and any details such as when?

Unfortunately I can not comment at this stage, lots of behind the scene work going on.

The Department of Infrastructure and Transport have been great to work with but issues are further up the food chain.

Just waiting on an official email before I can make an announcement.

At this stage the way the water is skyrocketing along, the Cooper Creek could be over the Birdsville Track within 3 weeks give or take.

Stephen, as of yesterday, Cooper Creek is just starting to fill Boggy Lake to the west of the Innaminka Regional Reserve.
It was 292km from The Birdsville Track by river course.

Thanks for that but as of yesterday, it’s filled Boggy Lake and now past it with images supplied by Arid Air from Marree. Also Lake Blanche is almost full with floodwaters coming down from the floodwaters from the Strzelecki Creek.

You can see images on the floods page.

Stephen, any guess as to the amount of water still in Lake Eyre by mid August this year as visible from a tourist/scenic flight from Maree/William Ck?
Just your best guess based on experience of past flood events.
We will be going to KI in August, wondering about adding an extra week to look at the once in a generation event (if it's still active).
Thank you

Hi Mark

I would say by then that the Lake should be near capacity judging by the sheer volume of water still coming down.

My friend Trevor from William Creek is flying over the area regularly and he told me he has never seen so much water so quickly from the water coming down.

Every area that has had the floodwaters have all said these are the biggest on recorded history.

Even yesterday when speaking with a friend still in Innamincka, she said water levels have dropped around 10cm but now there is talk of another peak still coming from Windorah, but even with that coming, water levels have been metres over the 1974 record levels.

Hope this helps you out, as things are changing on a daily basis, with water as far as the eye can see.

All the best with your planning.

Let me clear up a few things since Stephen going to keep banging on about it. What I posted was posted in the corner country and I just shared it. Stephen knows this. When I found out it was incorrect I asked a mod to remove it and it was. This has not stopped Stephen taking shots at me both here and on his facebook page.

Hi Stephen, what would your opinion be on when the flow of water over the BV track by the Cooper would peak, and how long it would stay up for? Looking to do a boat trip in the area.
