Has anybody driven this road recently? We hope to do this in the coming weeks. David.

All good these days, anything misspelt is acceptable, even more so if it's on Wiki Camps or Google Earth, come to think of it YouTube is full of blatantly incorrect information thanks to the content creators and influencers who simply don't know 'Jack Diddly' about the place they are desperate to show their followers/viewers.
Sad really, because apathy eventually helps the changes of historic fact.

"Apathy helps change of historic fact"

And the demise of the English language. Hmm?

Point taken regarding the grammatical slip, but should I ever be involved in trying to locate an injured person or a stranded vehicle somewhere in outback Australia, grammar or punctuation won't mean 'Jack Sh1t' to me, but the correct name or position of the place where the injured person or vehicle actually are in this scenario is vital information, more so if it's a life and death situation.

We are now 25 years into this millennium, my guess is the demise of the English language started way back in time, possibly when two Englishmen from different regions first said 'good morning'.

Safe travels: Joe

Sorry to raise the matter of spelling, but with place names it becomes important if someone is searching for this topic later on.

I suggest you check the Shire road closures out that way there's been a lot of them recently

I don't see much point in that. There are no shire maintained roads in that area.

For what its worth.. I recently did "Eucla to Forrest" and then "Forrest to Mundrabilla"... I bet the track into Zanthus is much the same as those.. lots of exposed limestone and very slow going.

Thank you for this. I think you will be right. On your recent trip did you need permission from the station owners?

I dont believe "Eucla to Forrest" requires any permission. For "Forrest to Mundrabilla" I did make contact with Mundrabilla Station and got their permission.

If you're coming from the East - consider Eucla to Forrest and spend a couple of days at Forrest Airport (great camping and very interesting place) then continue along the Trans Access Road to Zanthus?

All dependent on road closures that might be active and appreciating that the legalities of the Trans Access Road are murky (at best).. I did the entire length in 2022 without issue (Glendambo -> Kalgoorlie)

Thank you for this information. The complete trip would be amazing. I remember many years ago we looked at cycling the railway access track. Was possible then but decided to go via bitumen due to time contraints.

Wow.. how's the timing on this video!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdksGjumoyk

The track looks much sandier than Eucla/Mundrabilla to Forrest.. and very much looks like quite an enjoyable drive.

Thanks Duncan. Very timely. We should find ourselves on this track within two and a bit weeks. Looks fine to me but i guess that is based on individual experiences and preferences. Thanks again for posting.

Due to having opportunity to visit Eyre Bird Observatory i took the road from Cocklebiddy to Rawlina. First 30km from Cocklebiddy final and 30km to Rawlina fine but middle section very slow due to potential tyre damage and sump busting rocks. Took me 5hrs 20min for 144km. Arrived with zero damage so very happy boy
