Here is one for the wheel alignment gurus. I have recently changed tyres sizes on my 78 series landcruiser. Previously I had highway terrain 275/70 R16 and have changed all 5 tyres to 265/70 R16. Thanks to a camber kit the 275/70's were steering very
well however on changing to the 265/70's the vehicle wants to pull to the left again like it used to do prior to fitment of the camber kit. The tyres I bought are goodyear wrangler AT/R. I figure it has something to do with the greater road/tyre contact surface area. Any advice on cause and possble fix would be apreciated.

I couldn't find the diameters for the Goodyears but in the BFG ATs the diameter of the 265/75 is a bit bigger than the 275/70 (820mm v 807) I can't see how this alone would alter steering geometry. Could it be that the old tyres were worn and steering misalignment was compensated by tyre wear. With new tyres the misalignement is now evident?

Sounds like a "radial Stearing" problem.
I had this on the Patrol (GU) and the only way to fix it was to change the tyres around.

Thanks for the tips I will try a tyre swap. In reply to Bob the tyres on the front were in good condition and appeared to be wearing
well. The back however were barely legal but this would have no bearing on the problem, interesting thought though.
